Holidays, Family And Social Media – How Do They All Connect?

The holidays are over! I hope you all had a wonderful Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Christmas! Are you ready to ring in the New Year? 1SEO.com is ready for 2015! What was your favorite part of the holiday season? Mine was watching my family get together and carry on traditions. I always think about those who can’t be with their family on the holidays. Luckily, now we have social media and features on our phones such as FaceTime and Skype to video call one another! You may be thinking FaceTime and Skype make sense, but how does social media connect families during the holiday? Here are a few ways! Test them out on New Year’s Day!

Sharing Photos

Who doesn’t love looking at photos of the good times? Capture the moment for all your family and friends to see! Later in the day, post the photos to your favorite social media platforms. Now anyone who is interested in seeing what you and your family did over the holidays can share the moment with you! Also, if you want, copy and paste the URL to your online photo album and email it to whomever you would like to share with!

Lights, camera action – Create a home video!

Photos are amazing. We all know they’re worth 1,000 words, but what about making those photos come alive? Try creating a home video series. When you share on social media, your family and friends can laugh and smile along with you. Anyone who could not be there will get the next best thing and not have to miss out!

Did you live in the moment so much that you forgot to take photos and videos? No big deal.

This holiday was so exciting you forgot to capture it. That’s ok! Post a status to social media. Tell your family and friends what little Johnny got for Christmas! Tell them about what cookies you baked while watching your favorite holiday movie! Anyone who was not there will love to hear the details.

Always remember, sharing is caring! It’s equally as hard for those who can’t be there. This year try making things easier and utilize social media! Photos, videos and statuses will help your family and friends feel like they were there. Hey! It’s better than nothing. Have a Happy New Year! 2015, we’re ready for you!
